MORRIS S. MINTON, MD, FAAD
Dr. Minton graduated from Baylor University with a BA in chemistry in 1965. His medical degree (MD) was earned from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1969. While in medical school, he was awarded a student cardiology fellowship at Cambridge University, Cambridge, England. He completed his internship at Fitzsimons General Army Hospital, Denver, Colorado, 1969-1970.
Dr. Minton served as a Captain in the U. S. Army Medical Corps from 1969-1972. He then completed his residency in Dermatology at Duke University Medical Center with additional training at the University of California San Diego, 1972-1975. He became a board certified Dermatologist in 1976.
Dr. Minton is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and also of the American Society of Dermatological Surgery, and the American Society of Pediatric Dermatology.
Dr. Minton has been in the private practice of Dermatology, with a concentration in general and surgical dermatology, with emphasis on skin cancer surgery for over 25 years.
Over those years, Dr. Minton and his wife and family have spent summers in Maine. They have three grown children, two grandchildren, and two Labrador Retrievers.
In 2018, Dr. Minton left a long standing practice in the Charlotte, NC area, to relocate and pursue practice in Maine’s MidCoast area.
Dr. Minton is an avid runner, photographer, gardener and cook. Dr. Minton also enjoys kayaking, boating and hiking.
The Minton family is involved in the local community, and actively support the Farnsworth Art Museum, Georges River Land Trust, the Knox Museum, Owls Head Transportation Museum, the Strand Theater and PAWS Animal Shelter.
